Batting 10,000

You the readers have reached over the 10,000 mark for number of hits. Although this blog is new, I am going to assume that there are so many people who are hearing the message or experiencing the aftermath of the law school industry. Hopefully, the message continues to spread. Say no to law school and yes to your sanity…

    Congrats!

    Love your post-always dead-on…..

And Nando, you speak truth…..I think the message is getting to OLs and not simply “JD Victims” like myself…..hopefully this will decrease the lemming flocks to LS……

      You never know…

Congratulations. Your perspective is great. I think it is important that people know about the plight of women and black people (and other racial minorities) trying to make it as lawyers in this country. The reality is that UNLESS you are have great connections prior to law school, you will have tremendous difficulty even gaining admittance into this oversaturated field. (And, if any lemmings are reading this blog, a JD or a law license DOES NOT equal admission.)

For instance, I know a black woman who was a licensed attorney in California – plus she is armed with a Ph.D – who is making peanuts in a non-legal field. She does a wonderful job, but is not treated with anything resembling equality. I truly wish more minorities would understand this basic reality BEFORE applying to law school. Many think that they can achieve upward mobility by earning a law degree. Sadly, most cannot even find legal work.

Many private firms don’t want us – other than a few so they can say, “Look! We value diversity here.” And people wonder why so many minority JDs flock to government positions.

Although the stories continue to be devastating, relaying them verifies the statistical data, which people cannot deny. Ayeh.
